Draft Initial Study with Proposed Negative Declaration
Project Alternatives
Build Alternative 1:
Alternative 1 proposes to perform a full depth reclamation of U.S. Route 395 from postmiles 51.2 to 51.7 (through the community of Lee Vining) and a "mill and fill" on the south and north ends of the project (postmiles 50.6 to 51.2, and postmiles 51.7 to 53.1, respectively).
Alternative 2 Pavement Rehabilitation Strategy:
PM 50.6 - 53.1: Full Depth Reclamation: 0.75’ pulverize; 0.65’ hot mix asphalt on 0.50’ recycled base.
No-Build (No Action) Alternative:
The no build alternative will not meet the project purpose and need as it will not bring Americans With Disabilities Act facilities or guardrail up to current standards, nor will it restore the pavement to a state of good repair or address the local mobility needs of the community of Lee Vining.
