Environmental Document

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has prepared and signed an Initial Study (IS) with Mitigated Negative Declaration, which examines the potential environmental impacts of the proposed Bridgeport Rehab project located in and near the community of Bridgeport, situated within Mono County, California. Caltrans is the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act as well as the National Environmental Policy Act. The document explains why the project is being proposed, the existing environment that could be affected by the project, potential impacts of each of the alternatives, and the proposed avoidance, minimization and mitigation measures.

Caltrans has evaluated the potential for impacts to the environment in the following categories, and has made a draft determination that, overall, the project would have no significant impact to the environment with mitigation measures incorporated.
